By the end of this chapter, RelicusRoad Pro will be drawing on a live chart on your own screen.
Pick the one section below that matches your trading platform and skip the rest. If you bought a direct plan you can install on all three, but do one at a time, and start with the platform you actually trade on.
Note: Every direct plan includes all three platforms under one license. See RelicusRoad Pro for plans. On the MQL5 Market, MT4 and MT5 are sold separately.
Have your purchase confirmation email open while you work. Every platform needs something from it.
TradingView
TradingView runs in your browser, so there are no files to download. Access is granted to your account instead.
Before you start you need an active TradingView account, and your purchase email with the indicator access link. A Pro, Pro+ or Premium TradingView plan is recommended, because the free plan limits how many indicators one chart can hold.
- Open the invitation link in your purchase email. It opens TradingView with RelicusRoad Pro already selected.
- Click the star icon next to the indicator name. That saves it to your favorites, which is the only quick way to find it again later.
- Open any chart you want to trade, then click Indicators, then Favorites, then RelicusRoad Pro. It loads with its default settings.
- Set up mobile, if you want it. Install the TradingView mobile app and log in with the same account. The indicator is under Indicators, then Favorites, exactly as on the desktop.
That is the whole installation. If nothing appeared, jump to the troubleshooting section at the end of this chapter.
MetaTrader 4
MT4 loads indicators from a folder on your computer, so here you do copy a file by hand. It sounds more technical than it is.
You need MT4 installed on Windows, permission to copy files into your own MT4 folder, and the purchase confirmation with your download link.
- Download the file. Save
RelicusRoadPro.ex4from your purchase email into your Downloads folder. - Find the folder MT4 reads from. In MT4, click File, then Open Data Folder. A file window opens. Go into MQL4, then Indicators. Opening it from inside MT4 matters, because MT4 can be installed in more than one place and this always lands you in the right one.
- Copy the file in. Drop
RelicusRoadPro.ex4into that Indicators folder. - Restart MT4. Do not skip this. MT4 only reads that folder when it starts, so the indicator will not appear until you close and reopen it.
- Put it on a chart. Open the chart you want, find RelicusRoadPro in the Navigator window under Indicators, then double-click it or drag it onto the chart.
- Activate your license. The first time it runs, enter your license key. The license is tied to your account number. If you need it on another account, contact support.
Careful: Disable Windows Updates to preserve your license activations. A Windows update can change your machine enough to use up an activation. Windows Update Blocker is the tool we point people to.
MetaTrader 5
MT5 has a built-in store, so it can install the indicator for you.
You need MT5 installed, and a purchase from the MQL5 Market.
- Buy or rent inside MT5. Open MT5, go to the Market tab, search for “RelicusRoad Pro”, and click Buy or Rent.
- Let MT5 install it. Installation is automatic, and the indicator then appears in the Navigator window.
- Install it by hand only if step 2 fails. Download the file from the MQL5 website, copy it into MQL5, then Indicators, and restart MT5.
- Put it on a chart. Drag RelicusRoad Pro from the Navigator onto the chart, the same way as on MT4.
Check that it worked
Before you move on, look at your chart and confirm all of this:
- The indicator loaded and no error message appeared.
- Lines, zones and labels are drawing on the chart, not just an empty panel.
- Alerts fire when you test them on past price data.
- Your license is active, on MT4 or MT5.
- Your settings are saved as a template, so you can put the same setup on another chart in one click.
If every line is ticked, the installation is done.
If something goes wrong
Most installation problems are one of five things, and all five have a quick fix.
The indicator will not load on MT4 or MT5. Check the file really is in the Indicators folder and not in the folder above it. Then check Windows has not blocked the download: right-click the file, choose Properties, and tick Unblock if you see it. Restart the terminal afterwards.
It says the license is invalid. The license is tied to your account number, so make sure you are logged into the account you bought it for. Check that the platform has an internet connection, since the license is verified online. If it still refuses, contact support with your order details.
TradingView says the study was not found. Click the invitation link in your purchase email again, and make sure you are logged into the account that accepted it. If it still hides, clear your browser cache and reload.
Everything is slow or laggy. On TradingView, reduce how much chart history is loaded, close indicators you are not using, and consider a higher TradingView plan. On MetaTrader, the same idea applies: fewer charts and less history.
Your mobile favorites are missing. Give it up to five minutes to sync, then reopen the app.
Still stuck? Join our Discord server and post in the #installation-help channel. Include your platform and version, a screenshot of any error message, and your order number. Our support team typically responds within 24 hours.
Remember:
- TradingView is granted to your account; MetaTrader needs a file in the Indicators folder and a restart.
- On MT4 and MT5 your license is tied to your account number, so activate it on the account you trade.
- Save a template as soon as the chart looks right, and you never have to do this twice.
The indicator is on your chart now, but it is still on its factory settings. Next, turn to First setup and make the chart yours.
